opening credits

We created newspapers and clippings to use at the start of the film. We have also used pictures of 'Roy' and a noose. This is the newspaper I made;

This is the newspaper that Lela created;

These newspapers are going to be filmed at the start when the title of the film comes up which we are going to stain with tea bags and drip red food colouring in so it looks like blood.

the script

This is the script that we wrote for the film for the opening sequence between the characters at the start of the film.

powerpoint pitch

This is the powerpoint that Lela and I created to pitch our treatment.

Slide 1;

Slide 2; The opening plot

Slide 3; Plot overview

Slide 4; Name of the killer R.O.P.E

Slide 5; Final destination meets scream

 Our film has elements of final destination as it involves 5 different girls with 5 different lives/stories, but it also has elements of scream as the killer is unknown just like the man on the end of the phone in scream.

Slide 6; Why it is called 'WITHELD'

Slide 7; The fonts and production logo

We designed three fonts for out title but we decided to go with the last one because the font of the writing looks unusual and scrawny so it looks like someone who is in danger or needs help has wrote it. We chose to have blood behind the writing because it is a convention of horror films and also our questionnaire results proved that people like to see gore in horror films. Lastly, our production logo is 'noose production' because a noose is what you use to hang people with and it also ties in with our film.

Slide 8; The characters

We chose these characters and actors because the girls are all English and around the same age. These actors have been in a few similar films or programmes to ours so they will fit the part very well.

Slide 9;  Codes and conventions

The codes and conventions of our horror film are the unknown which is the main basis for our film, also blood and unpredictability are also featured in our film because the questionnaire results showed that these three conventions were the top three scariest conventions in horror films. Lastly, we chose a weapon because that is what brings the gore and fright to horror films.

Slide 10; USP and theme

It is original because there is no other film based on chain mail so we decided that this would make the film more believable as a lot of people get chain mail regularly and it never gets passed around because nobody takes it seriously. It is modern because we are using modern technology because it how the chain mail message is getting passed around by so everything revolves around the chain mail text. Lastly it is believable because chain mail is common and people are always uncertain about the truth behind the message as people always have that second thought when they don't pass it on.

Slide 11; Target audience

The target audience for our film is male and female between the ages 16-24. These two profile sheets were what we made in a previous lesson to highlight the things our audience are likely to be interested in. For example, football, food, music concerts, shopping and social networking sites.

Slide 13; Questions

This last slide was for anyone to ask questions about our film.
